Privacy Policy
The type of personal information I collect
I currently collect and process the following information:
- Personal identifiers, contact information and characteristics (for example, name and contact details)
I may collect, store, and use the following categories of personal information about clients if it is deemed appropriate.
- Household make-up and dependants.
- Location of employment or workplace.
- Information about your health, medical conditions, or disabilities.
How I get the personal information and why I have it
Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you for the following reason:
- To provide our Service (your requirements for dog training and behavioural help)
I use the information that you have given me in order
- To notify you about changes to my Service
- To allow you to participate in interactive features of my Service when you choose to do so
- To provide customer support
- To gather analysis or valuable information so that I can improve our Service
- To monitor the usage of my Service
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues
I collect personal information about clients directly from themselves when they contact me via telephone, email, social media or through my website.
I may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate my Service (“Service Providers”), provide the Service on my behalf, perform Service-related services or assist me in analysing how my Service is used.
These third parties have access to my Personal Data only to perform these tasks on my behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. Third parties may include your veterinarian, for example, a groomer, other trainer or behaviourist.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information are:
- Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting me using the contact form, by email (jaynel@dogslittlehelper.co.uk) or telephoning 07815 903167.
- I have a legitimate interest.
- Where I need to perform the contract I have entered into with you.
- Where I need to comply with a legal obligation.
How I store your personal information
Your information is securely stored via password protected cloud services.
I keep your contact details for seven years after completion of the last coaching interaction. The reason for this is that the Limitation Act 1980 typically provides that legal proceedings for breach of contract or negligence can be brought up to six years after the events. I therefore have a legitimate business interest in retaining the data should any subsequent legal proceedings ensue.
Given the nature of my services, clients often return to me with repeat instructions within weeks, months or years of contacting me in the first instance. The seven-year period referred to above will start from the last contact I had with the client, third party or supplier, to ensure I am able to assist as and when I need to. Should you not contact me for seven years, I will confidentially destroy all data held for you.
In some circumstances I may anonymise your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you, in which case I may use such information without further notice to you.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
- Your right of access – You have the right to ask me for copies of your personal information.
- Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask me to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me to complete information you think is incomplete.
